Storage and quality maintenance of the stockpiles
Above-ground storage and quality maintenance
As a rule, the Erdölbevorratungsverband (EBV) maintains its petroleum stocks stored above-ground in shared storage facilities. In such facilities, the stocks of the EBV are maintained in tanks together with the stocks of other parties. The definition of this form of storage is set out in Section 1 (5) of the EBV Framework Storage Agreement. This form of storage guarantees that stored volumes of petroleum meet the agreed-upon specifications during the entire contract term which must at least satisfy DIN/EN.
In a small number of cases, stocks are also maintained in separate storage facilities, which are defined in Section 1 (4). In such separate facilities, stocks belonging to the EBV are held in separate tanks. In such cases, for quality purposes it is intended that a framework exchange agreement (Wälzungsvereinbarung) will be concluded with the storage company of the depot or with a third party.
